Streets Food Project

After 5 wonderful years of supporting our local community, we are sad to say that we have decided to close Streets Food Project.

Work like this often arises in response to acute needs and as things change it is important to re-evaluate why and how it is being undertaken. We celebrate the impact that the project has had and the efforts of our wonderful volunteers. We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed or participated in any way.

The Streets Story

Streets began life as a community coffee shop - a cosy, homely place on Finchley Road with good coffee and friendly faces. It was intended as a space for us to engage with and support local residents and passersby. However, the difficulties of sustaining the coffee shop during the pandemic were significant and we had to close our doors for good. However, the spirit of Streets did not fade. Blessing the community is less about coffee (no matter how good it is) and more about responding to the immediate needs of those around us. We transformed Streets into an initiative to help those that were struggling during the lockdown. We had food, resources and volunteers and it was barely a moment before Streets Food Project was in full swing.

Over the past few years we have helped hundreds of people. The influx of Ukrainian families presented us with new opportunities to help and we continue to work hard for the sake of those that need a bit of extra support.

Do you need help?

Streets Food Project is now closed and is no longer able to offer food support. However, there are a number of excellent food banks and organisations offering support in Camden. Please visit the following websites to find out where you can access the support you may need:
